Hourly vs Point-to-Point Chauffeur Service in Miami

Choose point-to-point service for a defined pickup and destination. Choose hourly service when you need the same chauffeur and vehicle to remain assigned between stops, with service time billed under your agreed hourly terms. If you only need an outward trip and a much later return, compare two separate transfers before reserving the whole interval.

The decision is about availability as well as price. Meetings, luggage, changes and the return plan determine which arrangement fits a day in Miami or elsewhere in South Florida. Explore our chauffeur service in Miami to arrange the option that fits your itinerary.

What point-to-point service covers

A point-to-point transfer is planned around one scheduled pickup and one principal destination. Share any additional stop or expected waiting before confirmation because it may change the route, duration and quote.

This often suits an airport-to-hotel trip, a ride to a meeting or a restaurant drop-off when the vehicle does not need to remain available. A return journey needs its own confirmed arrangement; booking the outward trip does not reserve a vehicle for later.

Two separate transfers may also suit a long appointment with a firm end time. Confirm both pickups, and do not assume that the same chauffeur or vehicle will cover both movements unless that arrangement has been agreed.

What hourly service covers

Hourly service reserves the same chauffeur and vehicle for your itinerary, including the time between movements. The planned start and estimated finish help organize the day; additional time is covered by the hourly arrangement and billed under the agreed terms. Confirm the service area and distance when planning the stops.

Typical uses include a sequence of meetings, site visits, shopping or appointments, and an evening with a return time that may change. If you want luggage or belongings to remain in the vehicle, arrange this beforehand and identify anything you need to carry with you at each stop.

An assigned vehicle may need to wait in an authorized staging or parking area away from the entrance. Discuss the return meeting point and how much notice to give when you are ready to leave. Parking arrangements, mileage and access remain part of planning the itinerary.

Waiting time and extra hours: how the two services differ

Point-to-point transfers have their own waiting allowances and applicable waiting charges. Extra vehicle availability beyond the confirmed transfer is not guaranteed: the chauffeur may have another scheduled reservation afterward. If you need a longer stop, a later departure or continuing service, check availability with BHBB USA. Review our booking and service FAQs for the applicable conditions.

Hourly service has no separate waiting-time surcharge. Time before boarding and between stops counts as part of the hourly service. If you board 30 minutes after the scheduled pickup at a local address, airport or seaport, those 30 minutes count toward the service duration under the confirmed booking start time; BHBB USA does not add a separate waiting charge on top of the hourly time.

Additional hourly time is already covered by the confirmed service arrangement, so you do not need separate extension approval simply to continue beyond the estimated finish. You pay for the service time used under the agreed hourly rate, minimum and billing terms. Keep the chauffeur or dispatcher informed about your departure and stop changes so they can coordinate the itinerary.

These are planning examples, not automatic quotes. The complete itinerary determines the recommendation.

Why hourly service suits a stadium round trip

For a hotel–Hard Rock Stadium–hotel itinerary, BHBB USA recommends hourly service and strongly recommends arranging the appropriate event parking pass in advance. The plan is to keep the same chauffeur and vehicle at the venue in an approved parking location, with a clear meeting point that minimizes the walk back to the vehicle. The actual parking and pickup location must match the event's arrangements; a parking pass alone does not establish a pickup at the entrance.

With the vehicle remaining assigned, bags and luggage can stay with the vehicle as arranged, you can return early, and you can add a restaurant or another stop to continue celebrating within the agreed service area. Tell the chauffeur or dispatcher about the change; the service time continues under the hourly billing terms.

Two examples: the same day can need different arrangements

Example 1 — an outward trip and a later return. You need to leave a hotel at 8:30 a.m. for an appointment and have a confirmed return pickup at 4:30 p.m. There are no movements in between, and you can take your belongings inside. Two transfers are worth comparing because continuous vehicle availability may add little value to that plan. Confirm what happens if the appointment ends early or runs late.

Example 2 — several stops with changing release times. You plan a hotel pickup at 9:00 a.m., two meetings, a lunch stop and a final hotel drop-off by 2:00 p.m. A vehicle assigned throughout that period can support changes between stops. The planned window is five hours, including waiting between movements; five hours is an illustration, not a universal minimum or confirmation that every itinerary fits.

For either example, provide the actual addresses before accepting the timing. Our executive assistant’s ground transportation guide explains how to work backward from a fixed appointment and separate vehicle arrival from passenger departure.

How to compare quotes fairly

Ask for both options using the same date, vehicle requirements, passengers, luggage, locations and return plan. Compare the total confirmed scope rather than an hourly rate against the price of just one leg.

For hourly service, confirm:

  • The minimum reservation and when chargeable time starts and ends.
  • How waiting between stops counts toward the reserved hours.
  • The agreed service area and any distance limits.
  • Parking, access requirements and other inclusions or additional charges.
  • The agreed rate and billing increments for additional service time.

For separate transfers, confirm the price and conditions for each leg, any planned stops, applicable waiting allowances and how a changed pickup time is handled. Additional availability must be checked rather than assumed. BHBB USA confirms the applicable minimum, inclusions and conditions with the quote; these can differ by vehicle, itinerary and event date.

Build the window around the whole itinerary

Allow for boarding, luggage, driving, appointments, parking or staging, venue exits and the final drop-off. A reservation covering only the driving portions will not describe a day when the vehicle must remain assigned during meetings or meals.

Agree the vehicle’s arrival instructions separately from the passenger’s departure time, and confirm the booking's chargeable start. If a meeting may overrun, give a likely range and keep the chauffeur or dispatcher updated. For hourly service, the time used beyond the estimated finish is billed under the agreed terms without a separate extension approval. For point-to-point service, confirm whether the vehicle can remain available beyond the booked transfer.

For a concert, wedding or gala, the return pickup deserves its own plan. Our event transportation planning checklist covers guest groups, meeting points and return arrangements.

Check routes and entrances close to the service date

Provide the full street address, building name and usable entrance for every stop. Add valet, loading or access instructions where relevant; a map pin at the center of a property may not identify the pickup point.

Use Florida 511 for traffic incidents, congestion and roadway conditions. The City of Miami Beach construction project map provides local construction context. Check event and venue instructions separately, because a project map does not establish the loading arrangements for your reservation.

Send one clear itinerary

  1. Date, pickup time and expected final drop-off time.
  2. Each stop’s address, building, entrance and appointment time.
  3. Passenger and luggage counts; equipment or accessibility needs.
  4. Return plan and whether the vehicle and luggage stay between stops.
  5. Main contact and any flexible timings.

Keep one current version and send revisions in writing. With those details, BHBB USA can help compare separate transfers with a vehicle reserved for the agreed period.
